Waffen SS soldier awarded medal
Waffen SS veteran Yaroslav Hunka continues to be in the news.
As you may recall, Hunka, a member of SS Galicia, also known as the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Galician), received a standing ovation from MPs in the House of Commons last fall.
Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Wayne Eyre also applauded him (Eyre won’t apologize to the Canadian veterans who were offended by his actions).
Now Hunka has received a new honour. The online news outlet, The Maple, reports that Hunka, who was honoured by the Canadian Parliament as a “hero” last September, was recently awarded a medal named after a Ukrainian Nazi collaborator.
